Pomegranates
The pomegranate fruit is very delicious and is also a very beautiful tree! Pomegranates are also sometimes called the Chinese apple or Granada. A hot climate is the best place for pomegranates to grow. Currently pomegranates are mostly grown in Africa, India, and the United States. They are very juicy inside and can be a bit messy to eat. Don’t let this stop you, tasting that citrus flavor that it has is well worth it! The pomegranate has become very popular, it is available in most markets. We love going to our Grandparents farm and climbing their tree, picking a pomegranate and eating it right there sitting in the tree.
Studies show that the fruit contains a high amount of antioxidants that can be very healthy for us. Check out the huge amount of ruby colored seeds inside! Most of the antioxidants come from eating the whole seed. There is a very cool way to eat a pomegranate that some people might not know about. You roll the pomegranate over a hard surface just enough to release the juices inside but not too hard, it will break the skin open. Then you make a small hole and place a straw inside and drink the juice straight from the fruit!
