Easy As Dough

There is nothing better than a pizza topped with all of those fresh veggies from the garden. Making fresh pizza dough is such a fun family activity but we realized this summer it is ok to take a shortcut. A friend told us about premade fresh pizza dough. We are usually all about making things from scratch, this inexpensive fresh dough gives us more time to swim and play with friends. You can find it in most markets now in the refrigerator section. We have a few tips to make it taste even more like homemade:

1.Flour the ball of dough and let it rise, covered with a clean dish cloth for about twenty minutes before rolling it out.
2.Cook your dough at a high oven temperature 400 to 450 degrees. This makes the crust a little crispier like a wood fired pizza oven.
3.If you have trouble with the dough sticking to the pan sprinkle a bit of cornmeal on the pan before you lay the dough on top.

So don’t miss out on the taste of homemade pizza this summer, make the most of your family time and look for this easy premade fresh dough. Our favorite brand is Trader Joes premade fresh pizza dough.
Remember to load your pizzas up with all of the fresh summer vegetables available this time of year!
