Rob Keller

Rob Keller owner of the Napa Valley Bee Company is working to encourage pollinator education and awarness. A graduate of Sonoma State University and UC Davis, Keller received a grant in 2007 to create an Enormous Mobile Vintage Trailer Observatory called EMoViTo. He is addressing the plight of the honeybee population and ways humans can change agricultural practices to protect honeybees. He has helped develop colonies that can resist environmental factors affecting them. This mobile interactive bee education center travels to schools in Napa and Sonoma County to help children and adults gain a greater understanding and appretiation for the honeybee. The Napa Valley Bee Company specializes in Apiary Management, Bee Habitat, Sustainable Beekeeping, Responsible Honeybee Genetics, Hive Removal and Relocation. Honeybees are essential for the production of over 90 food crops. We are very dependent on bees for the pollination of our crops. Rob Kellers work is helping to save our be population and for this he is a true inspiration.

Rob Keller inspires us because of his enthusiasm and knowledge of honeybees. As we have learned more about where our very tasty honey comes from, we realize how important beekeepers and biologists are to saving our bee populations. Thinking about how our crops get pollinated is not something we do very often, next time your biting into a juicy watermelon think of the beautiful, neccesary honeybee!

Rob is going to take and show us his hives in the spring, we can’t wait to share what we learn with you! Learn more about Rob Keller and honeybees at www.napavalleybeecompany.com
