Do Us A Favor!
Do us a favor and replace goodie bags with favors for us kids and for the earth. A favor is a beautifuly packaged little gift given to guests at a party. It can be anything from a special little fortune cookie to a CD of your favorite music. Our favorite thing to give is a homemade treat, packaged in a fun way!

The truth is the items usually given in those goodie bags at parties end up being thrown out and can be costly. We learn so much about reduce, reuse, and recycle it makes sense that the kids party bag needs a makeover. Like these little favor boxes that we filled with jelly beans for a Wonderland Tea Party we had. We noticed that our friends were thrilled with their beautiful tin of jelly beans and never even noticed we did not pass out bags filled with candy and plastic toys. After our fruity jelly beans were gone, we use our cute little tin for special little items like rare coins from our Grandpa.
Earth Day 2011 is in a couple of days, when planning your next kid or grownup party rethink the gift you give your guests. Challenge yourself and see if you can reduce, reuse, and recycle any of the items you want to give. Just maybe you will brainstorm a favor that makes your guests and the earth feel special!
